At some point in your childhood, you probably snuck into your mother’s make-up, experimenting with which of your mother’s products looks better on yourself or your friends. Nearly every little girl has done this at some point, with many building a special type of love for different skin care and beauty products. You have probably also more than once curiously looked at the different products available in the stores, curious how each product might help others you know, or picked up some of these products to help your friends. Did you know that your love of these products can lead to a career that is not only fun, but highly profitable? You can establish for yourself a career as an esthetician by going through skin care training to better educate you on the use of these products. Nearly every cosmetology program has some form of skin care training, and if you enjoy this, you can specialize in this new exciting field, eventually leading to having your own salon or spa to help other individuals.
Within your skin care training program, you will be learning about various techniques such as how to give massages, facial skin analysis, deep pre-cleaning, and make-up selection and application. Even though these are the things you may be doing on a daily basis in most salons, you also learn about different skin disorders and issues in your skin care training to better help individuals who are having severe skin care issues. By the time you have completed your program, you will be an expert on how to help these people feel more positive about themselves and hide some of their less desired features to help them feel and look more beautiful. How many other careers let you touch so many lives on a daily basis in such a positive way?
Before you can be an esthetician however, you will need to complete a skin care training program at an accredited university that will help you obtain your state license or certification. Usually, this takes most students 12 to 18 months to complete, but also can lead to you receiving your associates degree with a bit more education. Once you have this degree, you can use your skin care training to get a career in any salon/spa, or as a medical esthetician to help different patients with their various skin conditions. With this rewarding career, you can build your own client base and use your creative talents in a way you have never imagined, bringing happiness and confidence to your clients each time they see you.
