Esthetician Training

Over the past few years, more individuals are looking into finding esthetician training programs that are right for them, so they enter this new and exciting field.  Most individuals who take part in any esthetician training program might expect to be working in a salon or spa, where they provide services to their customers including giving facials, massages, body wraps, or waxing.  What many students do not realize, however, is that more and more estheticians are going into the medical field, where they have the opportunity to help patients who are coming out of plastic surgery or physical trauma learn how to take care of their new skin.  Others might work in dermatology offices to help individuals with certain skin disorders.  Who knew that you could have such a successful medical career while working with make-up and other fun skin care products?  Since every esthetician must have a state license or certification, it is required that they all go through some form of Esthetician training program.  Within these programs, they learn the benefits of keeping a clean work environment, different skin techniques, information about skin disorders, and so much more information that could be useful while working in this medical field.

You should also expect in your esthetician training to be learning extensively about the fields of biology and chemistry, to better understand how each product works and how it will affect different individuals with skin disorders.  Once you have finished your esthetician training and licensing, you will be able to work in doctor’s offices, clinics, and hospitals.  To find the best program for you, talk with your local school or teacher to see which esthetician training program will best prepare you for being a medical esthetician.  In this new field you can teach others how to be more confident in themselves, and no longer feel uncomfortable looking in their mirror again!
